Short CV

Professor Vladimir Sokolov is a leading researcher in the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Russian Acadamy of Sciences. He was educated in Moscow and Bashkirian Universities and was a cnadidate of science in mathematical physics in 1981, and received a doctor of science in mathematical physics in 1990.

Recent Activities and Awards

Kowalewski prize from the Russian Academy of Science for 2006.

Visited the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (Bonn) for 4 months in the spring of 2005.

Integrable nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations

Integrable 3-dimension systems of hydrodynamical type.
Matrix interable systems and solutions of classical Yang-Baxter equation.
