Vladimir Sokolov

Professor Vladimir Sokolov is a leading researcher in the Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Russian Acadamy of Sciences. He was educated in Moscow and Bashkirian Universities and was a cnadidate of science in mathematical physics in 1981, and received a doctor of science in mathematical physics in 1990.

Recent Activities and Awards

  • Kowalewski prize from the Russian Academy of Science for 2006.
  • Visited the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (Bonn) for 4 months in the spring of 2005.
  • Research interests

    Integrable nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations
