Short CV

Professor J. Barry Greenberg holds the Lady Davis Chair in Aerospace Engineering at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion, Israel Institute of Technology , Haifa, Israel. He was educated at the University of Leeds in the UK where he received a B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics in 1970, and a Ph.D. in 1974. He joined the Technion in 1975. He held visiting positions at the Department of Applied Sciences, Harvard University, USA (1983-84), at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Princeton University, USA (1990-91) and at the Department of Applied Mathematics, Leeds University, Leeds, UK (1998).
Editorial Experience
- Member of Editorial Board, Combustions and Flame (2001-2006).
- American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Member of Propellants and Combustion Technical Committee (since 2001).
Research interests
Professor Greenberg's research interests are in the fields of the mathematical theory of reactive flows and spray combustion, numerical combustion, fire safety and the behaviour of composite structures.

- Mathematical modelling of ember showers.
- Stability theory of spray flames, with extended chemical kinetic mechanisms.
