MIMS Workshop on
New Directions in Analytical and Numerical Methods for Forward and Inverse Wave Scattering
23-24 June 2008
This workshop is part of the
MIMS
New Directions series of workshops
taking place in MIMS throughout 2008.
Numerical and analytical methods for direct and inverse scattering have seen major advancements in recent years, for example sampling and probe methods in inverse scattering theory, new wave number independent methods in forward scattering and new analytical methods to determine the effective wave number in complex media with many scatterers.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers working in three related areas of wave scattering (namely, inverse problems, numerical methods and analytical methods) many of whom work in more than one of these areas, in order to discuss the latest state-of-the-art work for mutual benefit and to encourage interaction and collaboration.
